Picture advices
How to get better results for your families’ pictures? Here are some simple tips to help us make our products better:
1. Ask for the original picture with no touch-ups, clipping or cropping.

Pictures modified by the family don’t always meet our standards, which makes our work harder.
If the family has specific instructions that they wish to share, it’s no problem! Just send us the modified picture AND the original. This way, we can respect their wishes while maintaining optimal quality.
2. Gather as much information on the deceased as possible: eye colour, hair, clothes…
Many things can warp or modify these details in a picture. Lighting, resolution, camera and/or scanner settings, discoloration due to age are all factors that make it hard to interpret some pictures. By informing us on these particulars, we will be able to stay as true as possible to the deceased.

3. Avoid pictures of pictures: screen captures, photo of framed pictures…

The resolution of a screen capture is too low for our printing needs. The original picture is much better.
Taking a photo of a picture will often lead to unsightly camera flashes and will sometimes warp the perspective. The original digital picture or a high-resolution scan of a printed photo will always yield better results.
